track 2 - trapKat with Battery 3, and the 'jazz brush' kit
mixed (not very well) in Sonar

:) That brush kit's not bad -- how easy is it to control, how many pads for the snare?

it's really easy to use (hell if I can do it, probably my 16.5 month old son can do it) ;)
Battery is 'cell' based kinda thing, so for jazz brush kit...there is 24 cells, consisting of 100's of samples, and just the snare had 9 cells...right hit hard, left hi hard, snare drag, snare buzz, etc, etc.
I need to figure out the lay out or mapping issues...I have to do more research, to see if there is any trapKat sysex to support Battery. I like it. I like the samples, and I'm using it as a plug in in Sonar, because in Stand-alone mode, on my machine it doesn't want to work....??
it's easy to use, BUT what I can't figure out is....well....one user kit in my trapKat I specifically set up for Battery's 'Full Jazz Kit'...it took me 20 minutes with Battery and the trapKat to get it set up where I wanted it, and it's very cool and all that, but that same trapKat kit set up doesn't work with the other Battery Kits...I don't get it??!!?? ???

I'm going through a long and painful process of modifying all the Acoustic Drums supplied Kontakt maps to match the "NDK" mapping that my TrapKAT is set up for. In the long run, it's the only way I'll use those kits but it does eat through a lot of time!
-
so, you have to manually set up a different kit on the trapKat for each kit in Kontakt?
just like I was doing in Battery!??!
those Analogue Drum samples sound pretty cool also.
I'd like to get NDK to work within Battery!~

I could just set the KAT up for their map -- but they don't use CC4 for hi-hat, so I'd have to fix that, anyway.
I'm sure someone had done a Battery map for NDK - did you google?

I wish I had that much control. Nice.
