On both the Orch Timp and Solo Timp setups on my Malletkat Express,  the lower octave of keypads sounds higher in pitch than the upper octave. I've tried adjusting the octave function but can find no setting that gives me a continuously ascending pitch scale from bottom to top. Am I missing something? Is there a workaround? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

That is because the range of the timpani is smaller than the pads on the Express.   Find the best octave range (where you want the lowest note to be on the malletKAT.

Kurzweil repeated the notes on different octaves so that keyboard players could "roll" by playing octaves

Thanks. After some additional poking around I have found an octave setting that gives me a useful chromatic range.
