Solo MalletKat gig 4-19-08 8pm
April 07, 2008, 06:31:44 AM
At "Molten Java" - Greenwood Ave. Bethel, CT

This isn't what you'd expect a solo mallet gig to be.
I'm running backing tracks recorded in "Reason" and triggering MIDI and audio
loops/tracks via Ableton 'Live'

This is the first gig I've incorporated 'Live' into.  It's totally changed the way I can play a solo gig.
Tunes are no longer stuck in a predefined form dictated by the backing sequence.  Each section of the
tune, each track, each measure can be called up at will.  It's a fantastic piece of software.

Molten Java is a coffee house and really loose performance venue (at least that's how I approach it)
My last gig there turned into a 'Q & A' session with answers being demoed via the tunes.

If you're in the area come down and check it out.

Mark

P.S. for a quick demo and a tour of my MIDI Mallet rig go here: http://www.m13productions.com/MidiMalletUno.html
