Gig with MalletKat in NH
December 02, 2004, 06:15:48 PM
the Jerry Mentalmen Experience will be playing in Dover, NH on the 18th. (private party) I'll be playing a MalletKat through my Laptop(Reason) and into the PA.

JME is a improv. group with a mix of clasical/world music musicians, and two poet/spoken word performers (I think there's 8 of us total... it's kinda hard to tell from one session to the next :-)

This started as a "studio" group, meeting once or twice a year to record a weekends worth of improv, then selecting the best tracks to make a CD.

this will be our first "real" gig.

Are you planning on recording the session?  Live streaming webcast..? :-)

Good luck with it!

Very cool idea, but no... the recording will happen the next day (in studio).

The funny thing is, the person hosting the party could do streaming (at least audio, but I think video as well...)

Maybe I'll bring it up for next years party! :-)

Thanks for the support

UPDATE:

Wow, what a gig! the sound was good, and the audience appreciative.

Only one problem with reason. in the middle of the night, an unexpected (and rather dramatic) explosion of sound... not really intentional :-)

for pics goto: http://www.widgetpix.com/parties_at_widgetpix/wintersolstice2004/index.htm

looking at my pic, I realize that I am not very photogenic. A bunch of people asked about the MalletKat durring the break, it definitly stood out despite the already rather eclectic instrumentation.

So, who else is doing what?

PS: hopefully I'll have mp3's of the gig/recording session sometime next year.

Greetings from Nashville! Have been touring now with the mallet KAT for the past 14 years with my brother who plays classical guitar. 80% of our concerts are in churches. If you'd like to see the web-site, the concerts are listed:
